Workshop

Effective communication

Benefits

Communication takes place on 2 levels: the content level and the relationship level. Which matters more: the content level? The relationship level? Both are important, but the order is decisive.

The way you are perceived as a person, as a conversation partner, also determines how WHAT you have to say is perceived. If people like you, there's a good chance they'll also like what you want to communicate.

«Effective communication»: By this we mean convincing without steamrolling others. Because what's true is not what A says, but what B hears. In this workshop, you learn tools for keeping the lead in an appreciative way, convincing others of your concern, and dealing with difficult situations. Always at eye level with the other person. Without defending yourself or going on the attack.

Objectives

  • be aware of the elements of persuasive communication
  • recognise your strengths and personal development areas in communication
  • practise active listening to shape conversations constructively
  • You can communicate empathetically and, at the same time, clearly on the matter
  • You can handle objections and difficult situations with confidence

Content

  • What makes communication effective?
  • How to make the most of your impact in a conversation
  • The interplay matters: body language, voice and content
  • How to formulate your messages in a focused and understandable way
  • Conveying confidence: Active listening and paraphrasing
  • Being at eye level: speaking the language of your target audience
  • Knowing your role: high status – equal status – low status
  • Controlling your own reaction: The four-ears model by Friedmann Schulz von Thun
  • Staying true to yourself: Dealing with killer phrases and objections
  • When things get difficult: relationship level vs. content level
  • The meta model of language
  • Arguing persuasively: Structures for effective arguments
  • Short and to the point: Summing up the message concisely
  • Making content provable: Telling your own experiences
  • Preparing for conversations: Start clearly, keep a common thread, finish strong
  • Mental and physical exercises for a successful outcome

You register as an individual and train in the group. The workshop lasts one day. The focus is on DOING IT YOURSELF: you try things out, practice, receive feedback and stand in front of the camera several times.

We look forward to seeing you!

Until then: Practice active listening. Nod, ask follow-up questions, or repeat what was said in other words.

Presentation skills and rhetoric

Einen Grossteil unserer Arbeit verrichten wir im Kopf, im „stillen Kämmerlein“ am PC. Auch wenn wir unsere Überlegungen am Ende an ein Publikum weitergeben wollen, sitzen wir da und arbeiten …

Authentically successful

Only when we ourselves are convinced can we convince others. It's important to know where our strengths lie.

Body language, voice, impact

Your words make up the content – but body language and voice determine the impact. Anyone who wants to appear present, convince and inspire needs both in harmony.
